Feeling Positive About Things

I'm in my 3rd night of not having any snacks. Well I've been sipping 8 ounces of low sodium V8 at the time I usually feel like grabbing some chips and then brushing and flossing my teeth afterward so I don't eat anymore. I'm finding that this is helping tremendously. Guess if I run out of V8 before I get paid I'll just have a hot cup of herbal tea instead.
I'm going into my 3rd week of not using table salt. Because of my joints, I'm restricted to no more than 1500 mg a day. I'm not always successful, and have, for the past couple of days had 1600 to 1700 mg of sodium a day, but it's a lot better than 2700 to 3500 mg of sodium I was consuming a month ago. I still don't have a lot of money as I won't get my first pay for my job til the 4th of October, so I'm making due with what my Mom has around the house. I've been eating a lot of dried beans and wild rice lately and cut way back on my meat. I've also dropped 3 pounds this week from the reduction in my sodium. Never realized before how sweet tomatoes were.
Another thing that I'm doing is trying to eliminate sugar and sweeteners from my food. I'm down to 1/2 teaspoon of sugar in my tea. I personally feel that if I'm going to use my calories and WW points, and spend my money on food, I'd rather use it on real food and not sugar. It's suprizing how much I'm beginning to really taste my food now. It's like when I quit smoking 5 years ago how food tasted so much better.
I know I can do this. If I quit smoking and was also able to give up all soda, alchohol and caffeine (mainly for health reasons) then I know I can do this.
I also have to put in a plug for Kelly Howell and her brainsync programs. I may have eventually got around to wanting a healthier lifestyle, but it was through listening to her Secrets of the Universal Mind Meditation I every night that prompted me to start living a healthier life. I still listen to that CD along with her many other products; Weight Loss Acceleration; Walking Meditation; Breakthrough Training in the Zone and her Kundalini Awakening and other such CD's for a more balanced life.
It may have taken me 3 years to lose 33 lbs but it's staying off and not coming back on, even if I do fall off the wagon for a bit. I'm just now learning how to work with my body instead of fighting it.
