up n down!

Ok so Here goes: today is friday and as usual I'm feeling Great! I'm Happy to be alive and fufilling my lifes work! I work with Teens and and friday is our day to get out and have a great time, Tonight we are going roller skating and i have just one problem. my size 18 jeans are too tight and uncomfortable. Iam so tired of going up and down in my weight. I know what to do, and I actually Like doing it. So why am I highly developed in inconsistency? HELP????? emoticon

    Almost all of us go through the ups and downs, feel good - don't feel good, lose weight - gain weight, roller coaster.

    You asked what's up with the inconsistency. Well, there's no real good answer that anyone here can probably give you. It's different for just about everybody. But... I think there is a common thread throughout all.

    I think that the mind is the most important part of this whole process of changing our lives. Whenever you come across a temptation, a "down day", or if your determination starts to wander/waffle, try to recognize it. That's going to be hard at first. You may need to train yourself to be on the lookout for that pattern of thought. But when you do, you can take it by the horns and turn it on it's ear! Recognize it for what it could be - an opportunity to kill the inconsistency in your life.

    Just as tracking your food is an opportunity to learn WHAT it is that's ruining your nutrition and shows you where you can improve, so too "tracking" your thoughts when they "turn bad" gives you an opportunity to recognize the situations or environment that spark them. Maybe there's something you can do to turn that around and go positive.

    It sounds like you're a very positive, enthusiastic person. That's great! I don't know you at all, but I can already tell that you've got what it takes to do whatever you put your mind to.

    Just take one day at a time! Stay focused - and don't beat yourself up if you have a bad day! One bad day doesn't cause you to go up and down.

    No one is perfect. Find something, every day, to make you laugh. Laughter is the BEST medicine for a lot of things - including staying focused.
