I'm going to start writing shorter daily blogs to see if it keeps me on track a little better!
Today I started out with bootcamp like my normal mon-thurs 5:30-6:10am each morning. It went well...my heart rate monitor is broken again so I'm annoyed I can't see my heart rate. I have to send that in tomorrow to get fixed. It breaks 2x a year on my pretty religiously! (grrr!) I don't think my heart rate is getting as high as it should in the mornings...I need to ramp it up some more so I can get the benefits at the high end of the HR zone.
Tonight I'm a little nervous - we are doing our advanced training program for my running team and it involves running 5 sprints 3 at 1200meters and 2 at 800meters with 4 sets of strength training in between with a warm up and cool down - the sprints are at your race pace...which for me is a 10 min mile...now when your normal pace is 12:30-13 this is a push + it's 5 of them and you're exhausted from the burpees and pushups in between! this is by far the hardest workout of the year...luckily it is the only one we have that is this long. at least it will only be 95 out instead of 117 like 2 weeks ago! I am annoyed bc I left my garmin at home so I dont have my heart rate monitor and I don't have my garmin for pace either...I will need to use a plain ol watch...how the heck did people run before technology?? :)
Today I have been good on the eating (which is my BIGGEST CHALLENGE) and had a chicken sausage with large portabella mushroom stuffed with goat cheese, cilantro, and green onions, sprinkled with mozzarella. Now to hold off on any temptations between here and my run! Goal is to be around 1600 calories for the day mostly bc I will burn 1800 in tonight's workout alone!
Did I mention I am getting married and have just 177 days to do this? I'm not being greedy I just want 20-25lbs off in the next 3 months...just need the will power to overcome my tendency to self destruct! :)
