Floaters vs. Sinkers (Indelicate topic, but part of good health)

Thursday, September 15, 2011

Last blog, I talked about how naked I feel when my tongue is critiqued for health issues as I stick it out for a group to see and photograph.

Another topic that is strange to discuss is specifics on regularity. The Chinese doc at the acupuncture clinic wants to know how often a patient poops. Not only that - size, shape, color, etc. It feels kinda strange to talk about it, but it tells them a lot about what's going on in your plumbing.

The other day on the radio, they said that if yours floats, it means that you are not eating healthy enough. I thought that was interesting.

Regularity is a very big part of good health, although not often discussed.

Wishing all a good day.

Funny you should mention this, I was just thinking that no one talks about this, but it is an important marker of your lifestyle/diet. I remember taking a health class in college, where a whole chapter was dedicated to poop and some kids thought "eww" but it was very enlightening. Dr. Oz just had a show about it too. He said it should be "s" shaped too. LOL
Everyone Poops! :) (there is really a book called that, I used to read it with my kids when they were potty training. It showed how all animals, bugs, people....EVERYONE poops!)

Ironic, but I had a conversation with my dr about that very same topic today. What is it with us!?!?!?!?

Great blog. Guess I have some work to do--I don't have sinkers. Thank you for letting me know. If you have IBS, this is a welcome subject. emoticon

Interesting but I really don't check to see if my are floaters or sinkers. My children on the other hand at 2 and 4 are fascinated when they go.
