You should give yourself a good pat in the back. A few years ago, just going to the mailbox (less than 50 ft. away from my home!) had me in sweat and catching my breath... and I was walking slowly back and forth. You know the worst part? If you would have asked me, I probably would have said I was in pretty good shape. Pathetic, huh? Nowadays, I walk/run 5 k every other day, I do karate three times a week, Zumba two or three times a week and circuit training two or three times a week. Yep, most of my leisure time is now spent doing some type of physical activity. Hard to believe, but I love it. Did I lose a gazillion pounds? No... BUT I have lost a lot of fat, which I replaced with muscle! Yeah me! Sure, I'm not doing cartwheels after I weigh myself (although I physically CAN do cartwheels now), but I am doing my happy dance when I get my fat percentage done. This one is going down, and so are my dress size, my cholesterol, my blood pressure and all the numbers that really count. So. Pat, pat, pat. I am proud of myself and I wanted to tell the world. Now that it's done, back to training, the tatami is calling my name.
