Today is my 7 month anniversary of maintaining, and this is the longest I've kept the excess pounds off!!! I am sooooooo determined this time, that it will be my last time for getting rid of the weight. It is a conscious effort to make healthy choices, exercise, and that means less exercise with the fork and sometimes the fingers!!! I'm sure you know what I mean!!
I have said it before and I will say it again.......to keep me in check as well........that it is about the choices we make every day!!! Two weeks ago, my daughter was home from Chicago and my SIL and I gave my niece a bridal shower at a nearby restaurant. I selected roasted chicken for the entree along with fresh veggies, pasta, roasted potatoes, fresh cooked veggies, and of course, I bought a lovely cake, and everything was sooooooooo yummy, and it was family style, meaning you could eat as much as you wanted!!! I surely could have eaten more than I did, but it was my CHOICE not to, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, cuz I did!!! Speeding ahead to 8/30, the day we left MI to drive to Chicago........DD and I.....to get her car loaded down for her big move to San Antonio, where she started a brand new job. Well, there were temptations abound in Chicago, first of all with Garrett's popcorn, which is just unbelievable, but I did NOT succumb to the temptation. My DD bought a bag to take with her to SA, and we went to a neat little place called the Donut Vault, and I treated my DD and myself to donuts....a buttermilk one and three small ginger/sugar ones, which we did not eat at one setting, but oh, where those yummy!! Also the pizza place, Quartino's, that Mary treated me to, was just sooooooo yummy, and I totally enjoyed it....pizza with mushrooms and a cheesey one and then off the Cheesecake Factory for my favorite..Peanut Butter cup!! It was awesome, but again, I brought home over half of it for the next day!!On 9/2, the car piled high with a lot of stuff and a long car trip the ....over 20 hours and little movement, meaning that care had to be taken not to overeat.I wrote in my food journal DAILY, and that kept me on track too!! Fortunately, my DD is also watching her weight, though she does not really need to worry about that; she just wants to be healthy, and I say YOU GO GIRL on that one!! She did bring her weights along, so I was able to get a workout or two in! I am happy to say when I returned home on 9/6, I actually had only gained 2#, but when I weighed in this past Monday night at TOPS, I had gotten rid of the weight and actually I am below goal!!! WHOOOOOO EEEEEEE!!
It is sooooooooo nice being here at Spark and being able to blog about this, read other motivating blogs, receive encouraging words from my Sparkies and also my local TOPS group!!
I thank God too, in all of this. He in his own way, motivates me to keep it movin, make healthy choices and keep positive words in my mind!! Those are sooooooo important as well. What we say affects what we do, so make sure you are saying only good and positive things about yourself. Always remember how special you are and how worth it is to get healthy!!
How do you see yourself on 1/1/12? Are you going to be the same as 1/1/11,(and if you're maintaining, that's wonderful) or will there be a healthier slimmer you?? Close your eyes right now and visualize where you want to be and take the extra time to pick healthy foods, to get that walk in and BE GOOD to YOURSELF!! YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOO WORTH IT!! Keep that in your mind when you feel discouraged and keep the positive attitudes going!! YOU CAN DO IT!!
