The good news - she isn't a hurricane. In fact, she has changed shape and likely won't become a hurricane. She has slowed, she has spread. So Tropical Storm Maria now stretches vertically across all of the Caribbean. She hasn't arrived here in the VI yet.
The bad news - we're expecting 4 to 8 inches of rain (after a very rainy summer, so the ground is saturated) - and winds are expected, anywhere from 40 to 60 mph.
We're heading out to bkfst, because we'll be housebound for the afternoon and evening, probably through much of tomorrow. The governor declared a curfew from 7 pm to 5 am, we'll see if that's rescinded.
Sounds like a night for grilling dinner, then cuddling in the dark (since the power will inevitably go out).
