For years I’ve wondered why it’s so easy to gain weight and is a real struggle to lose. Now I get it.
I’ve had a tough 6 months – putting down my first pet, shocking death of my favorite nephew and my husband deciding to leave me for a 22-year-old and start a new family.
As I often do when stressed, I had a love affair with Ben & Jerry. Seriously, I could down three points in one day. I just worked that out to be 8,000 calories over my basal rate, or 40,000 calories in 5 days!
Yikes!
If I really push myself (an hour of spinning, 30 minutes of weight training and 5 miles walking at 15mph) I can burn 1900 calories per day. So, if I eat 1300, that’s a 600 calorie deficit.
Time to burn off the 40,000 would take 67 days – over 2 months!
So, I have no rededicated myself to going back to basics so I can take off this extra weight.
