On Day 7 of Juicing

I am on the cusp of completing the first week of a juice cleanse inspired by the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. So apparently I should be done with the major detox phase and I do feel like I may have finally rounded the corner. Yesterday was really tough. I made a juice for lunch and dinner that did not taste very good to me. That makes me question why I am doing this and every commercial showing someone eating was torture. Now it is a new day, I stepped on the scale and am down 11.5lbs since starting the cleanse. My goal is to get as close to 200lbs as possible before restarting a modified diet. I spent this past week doing a lot of "experimenting" with different green juices and there are a lot of them that are not very good. I am now just going to focus on the ones that I liked to continue on my journey. I really have not been doing any exercise since starting the cleanse because I had not much energy. I am hoping that how I feel right now (which is pretty good) continues to grow. I hope this is the kickstart that I need to see my quest through to getting back my body!

    Congratulations on making it a whole week! You have such willpower, especially since you did not like some of your juices.

Please take the time to share your juice recipes on the Juice Feasters Recipe forum. The ones you didn't like are just as important as the ones you give a thumbs up.

I am so glad to hear you have added energy. Take it easy... Just a brisk walk is good. Don't do so much you feel depleted. Your energy level will continue to increase.

Start watching your body's rhythms... and go with the flow, do more when you have more energy, rest a bit when you don't. Our bodies are pretty smart.

    I supplement with whey powder in a breakfast smoothie. I am usually pretty close to my nutritional needs (low on the fat requirement). I am doing this mostly for the benefits of a detox since my body was fighting me tooth and nail to lose any weight previously. I am hoping this will make it more successful when I return to a sensible diet.

  I haven't watched that film, but if you plan to stay on this program for long, please make sure that you are getting all the nutrition you need in the juices. How do you get your protein when you are doing juicing? Do you use protein power, or get in an a different way?

    I also recently saw that documentary. Sounds like you are doing well! It seems that the best idea is to use this plan briefly, to kick start things, and then move to a more modified approach. Good luck to you!
