GOOD NEWS, GREAT VIBES, AND UNDERSTANDING...

A GREAT LINE OF ADVICE CAME MY WAY TODAY.
I REALLY WASN'T LOOKING FOR IT. IT JUST HAPPEN TO COME TO ME IN THOUGHT. SO MANY THINGS COMES TO ME IN THOUGHT, BUT THIS ONE WAS THE BEST ONE....

*IN ORDER TO IMPROVE YOUR BODY, YOU HAVE TO IMPROVE YOUR MENTALLY- ONCE YOU CHANGE THAT, THE PHYSICAL SHAPE WILL START TO TAKE FORM.*

WE ALL PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT IN...EATING! DO WE EVER PUT THOUGHT IN WHAT WE ARE PUTTING OUT? SURE, WE CUT CALORIES; EVEN CUT A FEW CORNERS. IT IS, WHAT IT IS... BUT! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE REAL FACTS WHEN IT COMES TO FAT?

I THOUGHT I UNDERSTOOD THE FACTS ON FAT... BUT! I DIDN'T KNOW IT ALL. I ALSO LEARNED THAT SOME TRAINER'S DON'T KNOW IT ALL THEMSELVES.. AND YES, I AM ONE OF THEM WHO DON'T KNOW IT ALL.

A FRIEND SAID. SPOT TRAINING DOES WORK.
IT'S HOW YOU WORK THOSE SPOTS, AND THE ORDER YOU DO THEM IN.
A WOMAN ALSO TOLD ME. SHE BODY BUILDS EVERYDAY.
7 DAYS A WEEK.... SOME SAY. SIT YOUR BEHIND DOWN AND REST.
I HAD TO GET INTO THESE LADY BODY BUILDER'S HEADS.
SO, I STARTED TO INTERVIEW ONE. AND I DO MEAN INTERVIEW....

SHE ASKED ME A FEW QUESTIONS, AND THESE QUESTIONS BECAME MY JUMP OFF POINT. SHE SAID.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU USE YOUR MUSCLES?
HOW OFTEN DO YOU NOT USE YOUR MUSCLES?
HOW MUCH FAT ARE YOU LOSING, OR IS IT MUSCLE MASS YOUR LOSING?

I THOUGHT I KNEW IT ALL. I KNOW SOME STUFF, BUT LIKE SHE SAID TO ME.
THE RULES ON FAT, MUSCLES, BODY BUILDING, CARDIO, & FITNESS IS CHANGING EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.
THE LADY GOES. I HAVEN'T HAD THE FLU IN OVER 10 YEARS.
I'M IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE.
MY CARDIO IS GETTING UP AND STAYING ACTIVE ALL DAY.
YOU WILL NOT CATCH ME RUNNING ON A TREADMILL OR SPINNING MY LEGS TO DEATH ON A STATIONARY BIKE.

THE LADY HAD PULLED ME IN WITH HER CONVERSATION.
SHE SAID. IN ORDER TO BURN FAT AND NOT MUSCLES, YOU HAVE TO WORK THE MUSCLES. YOU WALK, THOSE MUSCLES ARE USE TO THAT AMOUNT OF EXERCISE. YOU REACHING AND GRABBING FOR THINGS. YOUR MUSCLES ARE USE TO THOSE THINGS. YOU ARE SITTING IDLE AND RELAXING... WHAT! 8 HOURS OUT OF AN 23 HOUR DAY... MAYBE MORE THAN THAT, IF YOU SIT DOWN AND ADD IT UP.

SHE GOES. MY HUSBAND TAUGHT ME THE ART OF MOVEMENT. WE ARE UP AT 6AM IN THE MORNING... FROM 6AM TO 9PM MY BODY IS ON THE GO..

10AM I'M IN THE GYM FOR AN HOUR. I'M WORKING ON.. BODY MUSCLE GROUPS.
UPPER IS SUNDAY
CENTER IS TUESDAY
LOWER IS THURSDAY
AND IN BETWEEN THOSE DAYS, I'M DOING SOME TYPE OF EXERCISE THAT USES MY OWN BODY WEIGHT TO BUILD MUSCLES FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. PEOPLE HAVE THERE OWN UNDERSTANDING ON BODY BUILDING AND FITNESS, BUT IF A BASKETBALL PLAYER, TENNIS PLAYER, TRACK RUNNER, OR BODY BUILDER WORKS ON THEIR BODY 1 TO 2 HOURS PER DAY 6 DAYS A WEEK. IF THEY CAN- SO CAN YOU. YOU EAT RIGHT, YOU EXERCISE, AND YOU LIVE BY A CODE OF WELLNESS.. LIVE BY THAT CODE, AND YOUR BODY WILL START TO HEAL ITSELF WITHIN.

FAT WILL START TO MELT AWAY.
WHEN YOU MOVE YOUR BODY MORE, YOU WANT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE PUTTING IN. HOW MANY GRAMS OF FAT IS IN THIS!?!
SURE, THEY ALL GO.. DIET... CRAZY... WE ALL GO DIET CRAZY, BUT YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TAKING FROM YOUR BODY WHEN YOU GO DIET CRAZY.

THE FOOD PYRAMID SUGGESTIONS ARE HIGH.

AND THEY ARE HIGH FOR A REASON. IT DOES NOT MEAN...
EAT ALL THOSE SERVINGS AT ONCE..
WE MAKE OUR BODIES SICK, BY NOT UNDERSTANDING- WHAT WE ARE PUTTING IN THEM. DIET FOOD, DIET AIDS, DIET TRICKS, SLIM FAST, SLIM SLOW, SLIM NO GO.... THINK ABOUT IT..

*IN ORDER TO FIGHT THE FAT, YOU HAVE TO LET THOSE MUSCLES THAT ARE NOW WRAPPED UP IN FAT-BURN THAT FAT.*

I WAS SO HAPPY, BECAUSE TALKING TO THIS LADY REALLY GOT THE WHEELS TO TURN IN MY MIND. I STARTED TO LOSE FOCUS.

SHE GOES. IN ORDER TO LOSE WEIGHT, AND I'M BEING "REAL" WITH YOU.
YOU MUST EAT, WORK THOSE MUSCLES THAT HASN'T BEEN OVER WORKED IN YEARS, AND GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE.

ONCE YOUR BODY BECOMES USE TO A HABIT. IT WILL CONTINUE THAT HABIT. IT'S LIKE PICK UP STICKS. YOU LAY THEM DOWN, AND YOU START PICKING THEM UP UNTIL YOU GET TIRED OF THE GAME.

THEN SHE GOES.. I MARRIED MY HUSBAND 7 YEARS AGO.
WE STARTED DATING, AND I WAS A LUMP OF FAT.
THE 1ST YEAR OF DATING, HE WAS ALWAYS IN THE GYM.
THE 2ND YEAR OF US DATING. HE WAS STILL GOING TO THE GYM
THE 3RD YEAR CAME, AND WE GOT MARRIED... AND THEN HE NOTICE MY HABITS. I LOOKED FIT. I LOOKED LIKE I WAS A CARDIO "PRO".
MY HUSBAND SAID. YOU HAVE A CARDIO BODY.
THE 4TH YEAR OF MARRIAGE... I BECAME LEANER, FIT, AND I HAD LOST 39 POUNDS. I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THE 39 POUND OF FAT ON MY BODY.
I NOTICE THE LUMPS, BUT I THOUGHT THOSE CAME WITH AGE AND 2 KIDS.
THEN HE STARTED TO SHOW ME WOMEN WHO HAD MORE KIDS THAN ME WITH LEAN BODIES.. I LEARN FROM THESE LADIES.

THEY ALL WERE BODY BUILDER'S. NONE OF THEM WERE CARDIO HEADS.
BECAUSE... TRUST ME.. I WAS A CARDIO HEAD, A BIG DIETER, AND ALSO A SLIM FAST DRINKER.. EVERY MORNING SLIM FAST WAS MY BREAKFAST.
I WOULD WALK 3 MILES 4 DAYS A WEEK, AND I WOULD LOSE SOME AND GAIN IT RIGHT BACK. THEN HE CHANGED EVERYTHING UP.

I GOT ON HIS PROGRAM, AND I NEVER WENT BACK TO THOSE OLD HABITS.
HER HABITS WERE... I TAKE GREAT NOTES.. LIKE I SAID. THIS WAS AN INTERVIEW....

* UP AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE WORK.
* SLIM FAST IN HAND OUT THE DOOR.
* LUNCH "?" I NEVER KNEW WHAT IT WOULD BE.
* HOME AND 4 HOURS OF T.V. IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT TIME I WOULD COOK DINNER, AND HELP THE KIDS WITH HOME WORK.
* EATING BY 7:30 PM.
* 8:30PM GETTING THE KIDS OFF TO BED.
* SOME MORE T.V. LAW & ORDER, & NEWS, SHOWER, ICE CREAM, AND OUT LIKE A LIGHT BY 11PM

MY HUSBAND.. NEVER ATE WITH US..
HE WAS ALWAYS GONE BEFORE I WAS UP..
AND HE WAS IN BED BEFORE 10. DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE NEWS OR T.V.
HE WOULD READ IT IN THE MORNING PAPER..

IT TOOK HIM 1 MONTH OF DOING HIS THING, AND 1 MONTH TO CHANGE MY THING. BECAUSE HE WANTED A WIFE, NOT A ROOM MATE....

* WHEN SHE SAID THAT, IT MADE ME THINK OF MY HUSBAND*
~ I'M A NIGHT OWL.
~ HE'S A EARLY BIRD.
~ HE EATS WHEN I COOK, AND THE TIME IS IFFY. 6:30-8:00PM
~ HE'S OUT EARLY, IF HE'S NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO SEX.

~I'M AN EARLY BIRD WITH PAY...
~I'M A NIGHT OWL WITH PAY TOO...
~AND SOMETIMES, IT'S JUST HARD TO ADJUST...

SO, WHEN I TOLD HER ABOUT MY UPS AND DOWNS, AND MY HABITS..
SHE GOES.. OH, YOU AND I MUST BE RELATED...
I WOULD BE A NIGHT OWL ONLY WHEN STRESSED OUT.
I'M OUT BEFORE MIDNIGHT. THAT'S A MUST...
NOW, I'M IN THE BED WHEN HE'S IN THE BED.
I'M OUT WHEN HE'S OUT...
I'M UP AT 5AM, I'M EATING NORMAL BREAKFAST FOOD, I EAT ENOUGH TO CARRY ME UNTIL NOON..
I'M OFF MEDICATIONS...
I NO LONGER USE SLEEPING PILLS TO HELP ME SLEEP.
MY WORKOUTS -ALONE WEARS ME OUT.
IF YOU GET ACTIVE, AND STAY ACTIVE.... AND EAT WELL & SLEEP WELL...
YOU CAN HAVE A BODY LIKE THIS.

SHE GOES... DIETS AREN'T FRIENDLY. DIETS AREN'T FOR EVERYONE.
TO BE HONEST WITH YOU.. A DIET IS WHAT YOU EAT, WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY. IT DOES NOT MEAN, PUT IN LESS OF IT. IT JUST MEANS.. YOU NEED TO CONTROL WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY. THE AMOUNT OF WHAT YOU PUT IN & THE TIME YOU PUT IT IN THERE...

I NEVER HAD ANYONE TALK TO ME LIKE THIS.
PEOPLE WOULD GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND.
ON... WHAT REALLY WORKS FOR THEM.
SHE JUST TOLD ME.... FLAT OUT TOLD ME.... WITH OUT THE SUGAR COAT...
I TOLD HER ABOUT CUTTING OUT SUGAR, AND YOU KNOW WHAT SHE SAID TO ME. YOU CAN'T CUT OUT SUGAR. IF IT'S IN THE FOOD PYRAMID- YOU EAT IT, BUT YOU WATCH HOW MUCH OF IT YOU EAT.

IN ORDER TO GET FIT
YOU MUST .
YOU WILL BURN FAT- NOT MUSCLE.
YOU WILL EAT FOOD TO RELEASE FAT.
DIETS ARE STARVATION MODES..
YOU SEND YOUR BODY IN AND OUT OF THEM, AND AT SOME POINT...
BODY PARTS STARTS TO FAIL. DIETS ARE ONLY SHORT TERM.
YES, LIFE STYLE CHANGE IS THE KEY, BUT YOU CAN'T LINK LIFE STYLE CHANGE AND DIET TOGETHER. YOU ARE EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER.
CARDIO IS FOR THE HEART. WE GET ENOUGH OF THAT, WHAT WE DON'T GET ENOUGH OF IS.. MUSCLE BUILDING & SHAPING.....
THAT'S WHY LADIES LOSE MORE WEIGHT WITH HIIT PROGRAMS, BECAUSE THEY ARE USING CARDIO TO HELP HEAT UP AND BURN THE FAT..
AND ALSO, MUSCLE TRAINING KEEPS THE FAT BURNING FOR HOURS...
AND WHAT EVER YOU EAT ON TOP OF THAT AWAY FROM YOUR...
BELLY & HIPS..
LONG READ, BUT I'M SURE YOU ALL UNDERSTAND MY POINT...


EDIT TO ADD.....
CARDIO IS GOOD FOR THOSE WHO DON'T GET ENOUGH CARDIO IN THEIR DAILY LIFE STYLE. SOME LADIES MUST DO CARDIO FOR THEIR HEART AS WELL. WHEN YOU BECOME ACTIVE, YOU ARE ON THE GO ALL THE TIME.
WHAT SHE WAS SAYING TO ME WAS THIS.. CARDIO IS DONE EVERYDAY, BECAUSE WE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE MEANT TO MOVE. WE AREN'T STATIONARY PEOPLE. WE MUST MOVE. AND IF IT'S MUSCLES AND CARDIO.. THEN GOOD.. WE CAN USE BOTH....

    I have always loved the way I feel after a big session of weight lifting. Cardio can leave me exhausted, but strength training energizes me to the maximum level.

Thanks for sharing what you learned.

    Interesting thanks for sharing it. I was big still am but less big. I figured cardio would get rid of the fat that was more important. Then i saw other ppl small ppl with bellies and flab who lost weight only using cardio, Then i started strength training and I lose weight faster and look better. Is great taht you took the time to share what you learned I know many women who don't know the power of working the muscles. Long but good read. emoticon
