Wheat allergy??

Thursday, September 08, 2011

I've just found out, unofficially because I have no insurance, that I've been sick for a long time now because I may have a wheat allergy! A family member who is in the medical field has told me to avoid wheat products for 2 weeks and see if there is a difference. Since I have every symptom of a person with a sensitivity to wheat I am convinced this may fix what's been wrong with me and make me feel healthier- maybe even healthy enough to exercise again and live a normal life!
This is a whole new world for me. I had no idea how much wheat I ate on a daily basis!!

My daughter has celiac disease which is a total intolerance of gluten (a wheat allergy to the extreme!) Her upper intestines were so inflamed, she was unable to absorb nutrients from her food. She has been gluten-free since November and she's feeling so much better. She still has a ways to go, but at least she's aware and therefore able to help herself. Knowing what's wrong so you can work to correct it is the biggest step. Good luck! I hope you feel better very soon!
