Wisdom from a Fortune Cookie

Wednesday, September 07, 2011

After having my Lettuce Wraps from PeiWei today (not the best choice, but not the worst either) I indulged in my fortune cookie. There I found a very good piece of advice. "Big journeys begin with a single step!" This is the best piece of wisdom for me to have recieved.

I cannot count the number of times, I have tried to truly start this journey, but don't fully commit because it just seems to hard to lose 70lbs or have started only to become discouraged due to one thing or another.

But thanks to this wisdom and Sparkpeople I plan to make this journey one step/pound at a time. I will never reach my goals, if I don't take that first frightening step.

So thank you PeiWei for my fortune cookie and my new motto!

That is a GREAT piece of advice! Consistent steps will get us to our goals. I'm happy to see you're doing the 5k Your Way program - me too!

Wow, you actually got a good fortune cookie! Mine are always really weird. My sister actually had a string of fortune cookie instances in which the cookies seemed to be implying that she would die soon, until one day she got a cookie with no fortune at all. It was really weird.

That's a great way to view this weight-loss journey! I hope it is going well for you!
