Today's Fitness
I did 65 minutes of fitness yesterday (Sept. 5)

Today's Highlights
Ok, I'm back! Let's try this again. I can't remember if I told everyone, but I had a neck injury earlier this summer that I still hadn't recovered from that was zapping my energy so I fell off from blogging. But, I think I'm about back to normal and ready to go.

I figured Labor Day was as good a day as any to start another streak!

Yesterday's highlight was swimming with the boys in the pool again. They still like it when I let them ride on my back while swimming a few laps.

How was your day? Did you get at least 10 minutes of fitness? What's your highlight?

SparkCheers!

Welcome back! I enjoy hand-delivering items instead of using inter-campus mail. I can get in 5 to 10 minutes walk instead of letting the campus post office do it for me!

I have a daughter in a long-term care facility and that has gotten me distracted from everything else in life. But, I too am back - did my 10 minutes this morning and feel so much better.

I started a new streak this week TOO! I needed a little motivation to get myself back on track....aiming for any sort of exercise everyday - 20-30 minutes. even on rest days, I will stretch or walk my dog. I ran my 1st 1/2 marathon in April and have struggled lately to get my mojo back....on day 3 of my streak and feeling pretty good!

Sorry about your neck and glad it is better.

Your boys must be getting big and still you can swim with them on your back? At the cape when I was pulling my niece on the boogie board in the ocean I fell over, good way to get wet and boy did everyone laugh.

TY for keeping me motivated with the 10 minute streak. I am bringing back to the walk/run team.

Happy September.

I moved to Chicago almost three months ago, but haven't really explored the city. So I joined Sparkpeople.com and then I took an hour-long walk with my fiancee to find Lincoln Library. Our goal is to walk at least a little every day, finding new and interesting locations, so we can get to know the city.

Welcome back and thank you for this wonderful site!

Hope your neck gets better! I had been doing (4) 15 minute mile walks (1 mile with 3 lb weights I use Denise Austin's Blast Away the Fat Walking DVD) reduced it to 3 then add 30 minute cardio dance to up my cardio to 75 minutes & added a 10 min outdoor walk with the dogs to get in 10 more minutes. I am burning just in my DVD exercises 493 calories 5 days a week & on weekends I still walk. Thanksf or the inspiration!

Yesterday was a good fitness day for me. I did a 3 mile aerobic walk which used many muscles. I got a 2.15 walk in. I did at least 15 minutes if not more for the continuous walk for the challenge. Then I did some stretch/strength exercises. Since I've developed tennis elbow, I haven't been using weights. My strength exercises have been those like squats that use all my body weight. I hope that's right.

I'M GLAD YOU ARE FEELING BETTER. NECK INJURIES ARE SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT TO MESS AROUND WITH. I ACTUALLY HAVE STARTED A STRENGTH TRAINING STREAK WHICH I DIDN'T DO STRENGTH TRAINING BEFORE JOINING SP. I HAVE DONE CARDIO FOR 120 DAYS AT LEAST 10 MINUTES AND STRENGTH FOR 68 DAYS( AFTER I GET TONIGHT'S ) AT LEAST 10 MINUTES.

Glad you are here and although I am having a lazy beginning with disciplined life, I want to thank you for the wonderful thing that you do for mankind. Not only that we'll all look sexier and be healthier but the community is wonderful. This is one of the most wonderful sites on the Internet and I am so glad I've found it.     I actually ended up coming down with a stomach flu, but because I had planned it, I did a 60 minute zumba class! It was okay - not the most energetic workout I've ever had, but I survived.
No exercise today, and the illness really took hold after the workout! But tomorrow I am back in action!
Glad your neck is better!

    Go Chris, Go!!

I didn't get as much time in as you...icky rain and long work. But getting set to leave now for my five mile walk to the train station...even if it is raining. But I got more then ten mins yesterday and will today as well. Even WITH the rain. (summer rain for walking is good UNLESS you are heading to work, then not so great!) :D

Thanks for being an inspiration....hope your neck is all better.

I did 15 minutes on my elliptical. I am stating the second leg of 100 days of 10 minutes of daily exercise for 1,000 days. Today is day 102 for me.

1,000 days is almost 2 3/4 years, lol! I want exercise to be for me how it was when I was a teenager or younger. I didn't worry about having to do it. It was a routine part of everyday life. I like how I am feeling after doing 100+ days. My endurance is building, I have more energy and I feel my attitude is a happy one.

I agree with what PRAIRIECROCUS said about having your kids hang on to you by your neck if they are doing it that way, while you swim. I am glad you are back though!

Yes, I did have my 10 minutes of fitness workout today! I almost missed it, but I was determined not to end my streak due to extra long work day. Today is day #6 for me. I started reading The Spark a few days ago and am now at about 21% done with the book. Thanks for sharing your inspiring words and all the stories. I am planning on re-reading it even when I am finished so that I won't ever forget.

Was at the pool for two hours, then I was in a car accident that involved 6 cars and started when a car hit me from behind sky rocketing me between the two rows of cars waiting at a red light. God was so much in every aspect of it. It could have been fatal, but he allow me to be a witness through it all.
