Must Go Public

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

Yes, I must go public with this statement or I won't live up to it!!!
My own kitchen is often my worst enemy as I do a lot of cooking and baking for a lot of people. Yesterday I mixed two batches of Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, one gluten free and one regular, and of course, I had to taste both. Had a new gluten free flour and wasn't sure I was happy with the flavor it made so had several tastes. That was the same as eating the cookies, right???
Well, I will bake them today and promise to do NO tasting!!! No bites of anything in the kitchen unless it is part of my meal or snack!!!
Now I have made this public and I will live up to my word!!!
Appreciate my friends support!!!

Wow, that's will power! I'm not allowed to bake cookies unless we have a shortage of mini frisbees. Even the cats won't touch my baking! So, good for you for being able to bake and a big Woo Hoo for nto eating them!

Whew, that's hardcore, Carol. But if anybody can do it, it's you. Chew gum while you're baking; sometimes that helps...

Carol- what you are doing is hard and I admire your determination. Try to think of baking like you would any other "Hobbies" that you have. I do things like crochet, scrapbook, etc. and it would never occur to me to put any of that in my mouth. I know this is hard but you can do it. And think how happy the folks you are doing this for will be. (also how much more they will admire you when they realize that you are doing this stuff and still eating right for yourself!)

I just cannot bake any more goodies like that because I have NO self control when I do it! Good for you for having such discipline! emoticon

Good for you!!!! It's not easy, but every bite does count. It took me a LONG time to "get it" and tracking my nutrition really helped. You go, girl!
