Have you sat alone in a hospital room watching a loved one suffer? Perhaps you can testify, as I can, that it was God who sustained you. Have you, like someone dear to my heart, said good-bye to a loved one going to prison? If so, perhaps your testimony parallels her experience of being upheld by God. Have you clung to a dying child as he or she slipped into heaven? Have you hurt so badly you thought you would die? Who upheld you? Though we cannot see him with our naked eye, God is an ever-present source of help who upholds us by His righteous right hand.
Lord, You uphold me with your righteous right hand. Thank you for upholding me when I feel I may fall. Forgive me when I fail to cling to you. Uphold my children and loved ones today. Teach us to look to You and find comfort in the knowledge that you are upholding us for all eternity. In Jesus's name, amen.
