Awesome August #’s
Fitness minutes= 1,736 (up 620 from July)
Calories burned= 13,459 (4,519 more than in July, wowza!)
Miles run= 59.1 (up 7.3 from July)
I like this trend!!!
I followed P90X Classic Phase 1 (MY WAY) just as planned. Didn’t miss a single workout. Awesome indeed. My way is the 3 strength training P90X DVDs on their regularly scheduled days (Mon, Wed, Fri). And instead of Tony’s cardio workouts, Im doing an easy run + spinning class (Tue), a tempo run or speedwork (Thu) and a long run (Sun). Saturday is usually rest or yoga/stretch.
Eventually I will try Plyometrics (the mother P90X workout, so I’ve heard). I also checked out core synergistics and will definitely do it in this month’s recovery week. I tried Kenpo and it’s just not for me. So I’ll stick to my own cardio for now, which has to be running since I am also preparing for the DIVAS half marathon in November.
I have been allowing myself a cheat meal once a week, which helps a lot. Especially for controlling cravings and not feeling deprived. Otherwise I’m doing great planning/packing meals, eating lots of fruits and veggies, no white carbs at all (only good carbs and very seldom), taking my protein shakes, LOTS of water. I am looking to learn more about clean eating and have a book on my wish list (along with several others). Which reminds me…Reading!! That’s an area I have FAILED at miserably! And I mean books, not magazines- I got that down. I originally had ‘read 1 book per month’ in my 2011 goals…HA! And my scrapbooking?!?!? What’s that? And it’s been a long while since I went to church? Makes me wonder, what else I am doing with my time? With ME? To make ME a better person all around, inside and out? I seem to have this fitness lifestyle under control, so it’s time I start improving other areas of my life. Graduate studies? Personal training certification? Re-finance home? Other goals…… Hmmm…..
In September, I will continue P90X Classic -My Way- Phase 2 (already started week 1). I also have a 10K on the calendar. And on recovery week—I travel to Baltimore for one week to meet up with my sister!!! She will be there on short medical trip for my dear nephew/godson and I will be joining her. She is bringing her camera so a fitness photo shoot (and maybe boudoir) is in the works!! Got to get ready, look up poses and must go shopping for outfits! FUNNNNNN!!!!!
