Get 7 hours of sleep every day.
reward: new jammies
Exercise for 10 minutes every day.
reward: coffee and magazine time at Barnes & Nobel
Eat a healthy breakfast every day.
reward: cereal not on sale!
Get up without hitting snooze every day.
reward: fun flavored coffee beans or tea leaves
Drink at least 4 glasses of water every day.*
reward: a trip to the Bargain Box (my fave 2nd hand clothing store)
* I know we should drink at least 8 glasses a day, but, I am building up to 8. I just can't get there when I make myself chug. I am looking for ways to build up naturally. Excited to try the new approach!
Well, I was not perfect - or even very good - about meeting my August goals. But, they were enough to jump start me into September, so some what of a success. I'll give myself a B-. I let myself have a reward early on in August for a great two weeks. although my early reward excited me about doing well, I didn't set new rewards and totally strayed when life got challenging. I wonder if I am a big reward hog and really need them to stay on the ball. The better health should be reward enough, right? Oh well. I'm trying to get more creative with my rewards. Gotta work on some new (cheap) ideas. Thoughts? What are some of your favorite rewards? I was thinking today - this is my favorite time of year. Looking back, I've had the most success at weight loss in the fall, so ,I hope to make the rest of 2011 really count and carry through my healthier lifestyle well into and past the winter. No excuses for poor choices. I can do it!
