Learning the Lessons At Last!

Thursday, September 01, 2011

Genetics have certainly played a part in my body shape. My Dad was overweight, his Mom was overweight and I am overweight. So is my daughter. So what does that have to do with learning the lessons, you ask?

Okay here goes...

I am NOT my Dad
I am NOT my Grandmother
I am Not my daughter and
I am NOT allowing my genetics to be an excuse for being overweight.

My Dad did NOT exercise
My Grandma did NOT exercise
My Daughter did NOT exercise and
I did NOT exercise.

My Dad died overweight and so did my Grandma.

I AM NOT GOING TO KEEP THE PATTERN GOING!

MY daughter has started an exercise program, along with her eating plan, and she is doing really well. She helped me learn this lesson.

I have learned the lesson that eating right is only a piece of the weight loss and healthy living puzzle. We cannot truly succeed at being healthy and fit unless .... here it comes.... are you ready for the big revelation?

WE NEED TO EXERCISE.

I know that may be a dirty word to some, (it was to me) but it can be fun and it IS doable.

I am going to exercise EVERYDAY and then I will be slim AND fit!!

Thanks to my daughter and and to SPARKPEOPLE for this wonderful revelation.... I am only sorry that I did not get it sooner!!

You're not alone at coming to regular exercise late...I'm 66 and still working on it!
Blessings to you and your daughter as you work toward your goals!

This is a very nice blog and I am glad you learned the lessons. Exercise doesn't have to be a dirty word because exercise can be fun. That is what I learned on this journey. Enjoy your journey and emoticon . You and your daughter are breaking the cycle and that is so fabulous. It is never to late and you have got it now. Have a great day.
