Thursday, September 01, 2011

My goal has been for the last months to live in the moment and when I read a FB status from my friend that for 24h people could get cheep tickets to Seattle I said to my husband

So I had to stay awake until midnight ( I always go to sleep about 10) and we bought two tickets!!!

When I woke up the day after I started to arrange things so we could go hehehe... bud suddenly I noticed that we will be in USA when HALLOWEEN IS!!!!

I am going to buy a costume and everything!

My husband is going to be Batman! :)

We are staying at a friend house in USA and Canada so this will be awesome!!!

If you have any suggestion what I MUST DO!.... please tell me :)

Now there is operation DO WELL in diet and exercise so I can eat more in the states hehehe :)

I ran 38k last month and cycled 186k :) :)

My first time in Seattle my favorite things were - Going to the top of the Space Needle, taking a ferry ride, and eating yummy seafood in various restaurants.

I'm sure the time leading up to your trip will just fly by and it will be here before you know it.

For Victoria, make sure you check out Butchart Gardens. Admission should be inexpensive at that time of year, and while the gardens aren't in full summer bloom anymore, they're still breathtaking any day of the year. My personal favourite is the Japanese Gardens... So calm and peaceful.

The Inner Harbour is full of life, art, and music. Definitely worth visiting. In fact, that whole area is worth an afternoon of your time - you have the harbour, the Empress (Victoria's big fancy hotel, and tea time), the Royal BC Museum, and the parliament buildings, all within a few blocks of each other.

emoticon Take advantage of every opportunity. They say (whoever 'they' are) that more often in life one regrets the things left undone. Looking back on my life I'd have to say that this is so. Now I'm trying to make sure I take advantage of all the opportunities that come my way. I hope you have a wonderful time on the West Coast. Next time around you can work your way east and check out the prairies! The Manitoba Marathon is in June!

You will want to run along the waterfront trails in Victoria and visit the University of Victoria campus which is overrun with rabbits! And the Victoria Art Gallery for Emily Carr's paintings -- plus the Museum to check out the amazing aboriginal art works including massive totem poles. You will want of course to have tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria too!!

How great! There are lot's of Sparkers in the Seattle area and in the Vancouver, BC area so I'm sure you'll have lots of possibilities for activities. October 31 is my birthday, so have something special that day for me! I wish I could be there to celebrate Halloween with you!
