It's fair time....but I have a plan!

Wednesday, August 31, 2011's fair time!! Around here, fair time has always meant lots of family time, rides, making memories and of course, indulging in far too many delectable, unhealthy treats! In years past, my focus would be on trying to get the most amount of food in to every day.

But this year...I have a plan.

Instead of every meal at the fairgrounds being crazy unhealthy I'm planning on packing fruit and veggies along and indulging in one or two things a day. My other plan is to share. I am fortunately married to a man who LOVES to share! It makes it easy to have just a bite of a caramel apple or split those horridly addicting mini donuts!

I'm also planning to stick with my workouts (getting up early has been working for me). Also, our local fair has some wonderful healthy options. There's a booth that serves "haystacks" which is really just a glorified taco salad and fruit smoothies as well as vegetarian options.

All in all, I'm looking forward to seeing how this year is going to differ from other years and how much I can stay on track! I'll report back after the five day extravaganza has finished (and yes, we go all five days) and all the out of town guests have departed!
