I DID IT!
I actually LOST weight WITHOUT calorie tracking!!!
I don't think I've EVER done this before!!!! Okay, actually I think I did it in high school for a short period of time. Maybe.
HOW did I do it you ask?
Well, it started with living on my own and not having a roommate baking 1-2+times/wk and leaving the food out for us to eat.
Then it kept going when I decided to save money by biking everywhere instead of driving.
And then it kicked up when I decided I want to be able to run a 5k. No more, just 5k.
And then since we're on our own and making our own food we've just been eating fruits for dessert and lots of vegetables from the farmers market and BAM! I lost 5lbs.
I feel GREAT! And I wanna keep it up. Even though I'm back working in a food service place I don't feel the strong callings to snack and eat as much as when I worked at the other places. Partly I think it's because the food isn't as good (it's homestyle meat-based food. for older people.)
We also started a food budget and have stuck to it really well for 2 months now. However there was a 2 week vacation in the middle that kind of messed up both months so September will be our first month on our true budget. We'll see how it goes! It is really helping us cut down on snacking and making sure we buy the RIGHT foods!
We have made eating healthy a priority and we've only eaten out 3x since moving here and 2 of those times were the first two days we were here and hadn't had time to get all the cooking stuff out and buy food. And even then it was Chipotle and Thai, which is pretty veggie-full!
Anyway, I'm feeling great and hoping to keep it up!
