My plan for Fall

I have a challenge coming up so I need to take some time to think about how I can make sure I succeed.
I plan on cutting back my calories to about 1500 - 1600. I plan on tracking my food intake so I have a clear picture of what I'm eating and how much I have left to eat for the day. That way I can make better choices. I'm going to purchase things at the grocery store that are satisfying but lower in calories. (Bring on the suggestions. This isn't my first time here but I love getting new ideas.) I might even make up some pre-measured baggies with snacks so I can easily and conveniently grab things as I need them.
I also really need to scale back on my sugar intake. I've noticed an alarming need for more sugar once I've had some. Am I addicted? I think I'm just American!
I plan on getting on the scale once a week to make sure I'm on track and don't need to alter anything. I'll write that number down on a spreadsheet and hang it in the bathroom for extra encouragement.
The only difficult thing for me is the exercise. I was running 6-7 mile long runs and 15 - 19 miles a week. I injured my hip (bursitis) and now every time I use it (walking or running) it hurts like a son of a gun. I have a recumbent bike so I might try that. Otherwise I'm going to work on strength training routines to tone up and lose inches.
Oh, and lastly, I am going to increase my water intake. I notice when I drink enough I feel better. It's so much easier to grab a can of diet coke though. I have a cupboard full of tea from all over the place. I'll start adding that to my daily life and of course fill up my water bottle. When I have it with me I end up drinking it without even realizing it!
So, that's my plan. I'm looking forward to the changes it brings!
