Wonder what I eat? I'll show you! (Video Tour)

Saturday, August 27, 2011

Hey friends- I wanted to give you all a glimpse into my refrigerators, pantry, and freezers to get an idea for the kinds of foods I like to keep on hand at all times. I go grocery shopping every week for fresh produce, and maybe once a month make it to Sam's Club to stock up on things like frozen chicken breast (I buy a 10 lb bag in 5 oz portions), fish, paper-products, and other staples in my home. Today happened to be one of those days where I didn't need much besides loads of produce!

So, let me know if you have questions or anything. Enjoy snooping around with me as I work on cleaning up my diet! There are still "unhealthy/unclean" things in my pantry and fridge, but not too many. I keep SOME things on hand (like lots of cheeses, some deli meats, and low-calorie bread, cereals and occasionally chips or crackers) because my hubby asks for them and eats them regularly. I don't eat these things TOO much, but enjoy my low-cal low-fat cheeses. ;)

Lots of food prepping on my agenda tomorrow!

What's on YOUR grocery list this weekend?

Oh, and my last word (that gets clipped off): Byeeeeeee! (hehe)

I liked taking a tour! I'm part of the vloggers team, and was thinking the other day that if I win one of the challenges, that I'd suggest a fridge and pantry review (it's a drawing and the winner gets to pick the next vlog topic). It's a great way to spy on people :P and to maybe get some food ideas. Or it could also be a personal a-ha moment for those who have a lot of crap in their fridge.

    Thanks for sharing!

I really enjoyed this tour, thank you!

Just a quick note - I'm sure I read somewhere that keeping bananas in their skin in the fridge isn't good (invites toxicity if I recall correctly). Wanted to give you a heads up!

Thanks for the tour! It's almost scary how similar your foods are to ours lol! Which is great by the way as I am inspired by you!! Except yours is much better organized! As for me, I'm very excited that we got a new bigger fridge on friday! Our old one was great but very small. Anyway, thanks again for allowing us into your lovely home and have an awsome week!

Whitney, you are so cute! Seriously! Why dont you get into the industry for a living? I think you would be such a great, down to earth, real, relatable person who could help a lot of people (besides us sparkers!).

I bought some health(ier) groceries yesterday in preperation for back to work, blueberries, low fat cream cheese, dried cherries, low fat string cheese, greek yogurts!

My best purchase yesterday was a camelbak water bottle with a filter inside so I can start drinking more water!

Thank you for allowing us to take a sneak peak into your home (which looks lovely in the background). Our fridges looks very similar except I have twice the food since there are 5 people in my family.

    I see Nutella!!
Haha. I literally can't buy that because I would eat the whole jar with a spoon, but my boyfriend always has it at his house. Yummmmy.

Great tour! My Husband is in Iraq and he started eating clean about 6 or 7 months ago while there. I decided to go ahead and do it here too. I still have teens so I keep snacks they like and I just stay out of them haha. I love feta cheese and eat it once a day usually on a salad. Great source of protein.

Looks very healthy! I wish I had your food storage space! My fridge is tiny. I have two little vegetable crispers in the bottom and I have to eat things quick, before they condensate! It's awful! If I turn the fridge any colder, everything freezes or gets covered in slush from the condensation. Soooooo frequent shopping for me!

How do you cook your sugar snap peas? I've never had them but want to try them.

Our fridges are VERY similar by the way. I'll never be 100% clean but I'm good with 75%. :)

    Wow, nice tour.

Can the recipe for JE's pumpkin protein bars be found on I have cans of organic pumpkin that I'd love to use up before they expire. You said the protein bars can be frozen, right?

Thanks for the inspiration Whitney! emoticon
