Can we all spell P-L-A-T-E-A-U? I started out great with SP, got my hubby on it, told all my friends, cleaned out the cupboards, exercised (gasp!) daily and kept up my SP trackers. The first few pounds and inches melted away and I was feeling great. Even two weeks at my mom's didn't deter me - it helped that she already eats healthy, joined SP herself while I was there and let me prepare all the meals. What brought me to a dead stop was 2 days staying with some dear friends who were distinctly NOT healthy eaters and couldn't understand my family's need to limit portions and certain types of foods. That was compounded by the stresses of returning home after being away for a month, preparing for back-to-school and limited cash for a good supply of freggies (I've just picked up the lingo for "fruits and veggies" - "freggies").
It's a struggle to keep up the trackers when there's so much else to do right now, but I know from experience that that's the BEST help for me to keep in line. If I write it down, it really went in my mouth - if I don't write it down, it's as if it never existed - negative calories if you will. Hah! I AM thankful I haven't gained, but now I need to push forward to regain that warm, glowing feeling of inches lost when embraced by the tape measure.
