Yesterday was day 2 at the gym...who knew I was so out of shape! I thought I was doing pretty good, but those two days really did show me, let alone make me feel out of shape! I CAN NOT go up or down the stairs without pain/discomfort in my legs. But because of this I have done 1.25 miles on the elliptical and 1.1 miles on the treadmill. I played with a few of the other machines, but I really joined the gym for the elliptical and the treadmill. I can do a lot of the strength here at home with the dumbbells, bands and ball that I have.
I have made some goals for myself, and added some new teams to my list. I have always wanted to do a 5K, so I signed up for the Trick or Treat Trot. I plan to work hard so that I can run/jog most of it. Yesterday on the treadmill I did an 18 minute mile...not back considering I haven't timed a mile since I was in high school! I now have a starting point with something to beat. I didn't push myself too hard, knowing that this way I can gradually work my way up and get better each time.
I am wondering how many teams people on here typically sign up for...I don't want too many, but I want to try different things. I like different teams, but don't want to overload myself and not be able to keep up with them all.
I have been doing wonderful on my water intake! I am so proud of myself for that one! It is hard since I really like my pop. But since drinking so much water, I haven't found myself drinking near as much pop...good sign!
I am looking into protein powder. I think, with the way my legs feel today, I need something like that for after my workouts. I have a free sample of the Shakeology drink, but I can't afford a months supply of that right now! What kinds of protein powder do you other SP use? Any good recipes that you make with them?
