New to me....

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

I haven't ever done anything like this before but in reading 'The Spark' it looks like the most successful "lifestyle changers" immersed themselves in this community. So here is my effort to give it my all and see how things progress.
I'm feeling such a difference already in the small changes I've made and absolutely agree that the momentum builds and builds. I'm surprised in how my attitude to try new things and dream of higher goals has changed. I've started biking and swimming. In past weight loss tries I've always just run on the treadmill and saw it as a weight loss necessity. I am now finding JOY in finding unique ways to be active. I have never ever enjoyed summertime more and even find myself looking forward to winter and the new activities I can try. I even found a great set of snow shoes on sale :) Loving this new life and planning on bringing my family with me. I can already see the changes in my kids (who don't have any weight problems as of now). They are loving the evening bike rides, the swims at the lakes and copying the strength moves when I train. My daughter even said she would love to train for a triathlon with me! LOVE IT!!

oh I'm jealous! I suggested to my almost 12 year old daughter that it would be fun to do a Try-a-Tri (mini-triathalon) race together next year and she looked at me like I'd grown 2 heads! Keep it up - the most important part of your journey is that you're bringing your kids along for the ride!
