Hey, East Coasters...Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On?

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Hope all are okay and not too shaken up. You stole our thunder; California is supposed to get those shakers.

Seriously, stay calm and remember to duck and cover. (although I always do what they say not to and run out of whatever building I'm in)

This is the second time in as many years that we have felt this. We are just about an hour north of Toronto ON. Not a nice thought.

I barely felt anything, almost like someone walking behind me in an old building where the floor shakes a little. The hubby said it lasted for a while and at first thought my daughter was doing something, so he got up to find out what. (Since he couldn't figure out how she was shaking the house like that - usually slamming the front door shakes the house, but only for a second.) Big difference in perceptions between someone on the ground floor and one floor up.

Overall, I'm not really impressed. California can keep them. :-)

Some people up my way said they felt it - but I felt nothing & have been in smaller ones before so know what it feels like.

I'm beginning to think the end-of-the-worlders in 2012 have it right, tho!

You can keep them in California. I did not enjoy getting knocked off my feet this afternoon.

I live in the Mountains of Virginia. My inside cats were a basket case all morning. They must have sensed something. I didn't feel a thing. Hope nobody got hurt.

It's been a big day in the news between the earthquake and Libya

I live in Appomattox, VA and we really felt the quake. Some stuff fell off the shelves on my porch. One of my cats was scared to death. His tail fuzzed out and he was staying close to the ground. Luckily nothing serious...

It was definitely weird to read about.
