It's hard to believe it's already the end of August. The raspberries are starting their second ripening and the farmer's markets are already filled with corn and squash. I think about my weight gain and loss this year - I'm about where I was in January.
One way to look at it is that there's been no progress, but I'm not sure that's true. Although I've yo yo'ed up and down around 5 - 6 pounds, I've done more exercise and am generally healthier than I was when I started. I can swim much farther without getting winded, and have a more balanced approach.
I've done a few of the quick and dirty tricks. Groupon seduced me with a $99 LaserLipo special - how could I resist? For 3 visits, laid there with the lasers circling my girth waiting for the inches to magically disappear. Ironically enough, each time they measured I seemed to get smaller - but who knows how tight they can pull that tape, or even if it's the same tape each time (not to be cynical, but you never know). So I really lost 7 1/4 inches in 6 days? Hmmm, tell that to my still tight fittin' jeans.
As we roll into autumn I consider my options. I have a nutritionist I'm working with now, and went to my ob/gyn to check on my hormone levels. Probably not a bad idea anyways. Still tracking what I eat on SP, at least most of what I eat. I still get discouraged when I can't find the exact food, and chocolate covered cashews haven't quite shown up yet....
I now know that I can't have a time frame when I'm done. That's for roast turkeys, and we all know it didn't work out well for them. I will keep the hope alive and see if this time I can make it stick.
