Got to re-assess

After weeks of really trying to see the scale move AND was not seeing any progress I decided to re-assess. Then, after reading a article by Dr. Mercola about fresh Orange Juice, and why it really is not fresh, I got to thinking. Is calorie in calorie out really working for me...answer...no.

With Sparks and support of the teams I've stopped gaining weight. My muscle tone is 100% better, and my size dropped by 2 sizes. But the scale has not given me a break in a very long time.

So I went back to read more about food with Dr. Mercola. jm@mercola.com if you are interested in reading his thoughts. I took a test to see what type of foods I should live on. After reading till my eyes crossed I think I have finally realized that my body is dumping insulin every time I even think bread.

So I am following his recommendations and have dropped 3 lbs in two days. Yes, probably water weight. But then again, I didn't have to change anything except grain products. I have been eating anything I want within the plan, drinking the recommended water (same as Spark), and allowing myself a glass of wine each evening, and I feel better and have the 3 lb loss to go with it.

Maybe a new lesson has been learned, again, and again. I'm a old horse that just does not learn on first try.

    Yup...whatever works is the right thing. This sounds interesting, but it's hard to eliminate whole food groups for very long. Good luck to you and all of us!

    Thanks for the information. I have been on the "dreaded plateau" for 11 weeks and I also had to reassess and recommit to a few things that I was not doing very well. I will have to check out the article by Dr. Mercola...sounds like something good to try. Good luck on your journey and thanks so much for sharing....Martha

    I'll have to check his website out as it sounds interesting. If it works for you that's great! I know I eat way too much grains mainly breadly and I think I could live on it alone. But, I've had to cut way down as it wasn't giving me much WL. Thank you for the good info and I will check it out.
