Food-Prepping for Clean Eating

Sunday, August 21, 2011

Today was a BUSY DAY in the kitchen! I have a feeling MOST Sundays will be from now on as I challenge myself to eat clean, and have six small meals per day.

I don't have time (read: don't want to take the time) tonight to do a complete food-blog with photos and recipes, although I DID take pictures all day and do intend to post with recipe links sometime in the next few nights.

However, I wanted to share a sneak-peak of what I spent the day preparing for my week of clean eats!

- Turkey Sausage Egg-Bake Muffins
- Banana Protein Muffins
- Cut up musk melon
- Turkey Meatloaf "Muffins"
- Lemon Protein Bars
- Carrot Cake Protein Bars
- Baked Sweet Potatoes
- Seared Chicken Breasts
- Chicken Cacciatore (with red/green peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, and polenta)
- Steamed Veggies (Snap peas, Green Beans, and Broccoli)
- Turkey Bean Chili

Yes, I made ALL this in one day. After making a grocery run. Between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. It felt great. ;)

I have everything portioned into my new meal containers, and ready for the week. I also bought a new stylish fabric cooler so I can take all my food with me on work-days.

Here's a glimpse of the food prepping I was rocking this afternoon:

And my cute new cooler. :) (Found at Target for about $13.)

All ready for the week and an early morning at 4:45 tomorrow! Will be at the gym doing push-ups at 5:35 a.m. ;)

I have my next month's workouts printed off and clipped in a folder, along with my eating plan information to reference if I need. I also got a large (grandma-esque) pill box to put my multi-vitamin, fish-oil, and BCAA pills in for each day, and a "blender bottle" for on-the-go protein shakes after my workouts! (Can you tell I like the color purple?) ;)

Hope you all have a FABULOUS week! I'm excited to reach success with my goals this week-- how about you??
