Happy to be Back

Saturday, August 20, 2011

As much as I enjoyed teaching graduate education classes last year, I am thrilled to be back in my K - 12 visual arts room. I missed all of my students and the challenge of making learning about art fun for everybody.

All of the great things I learned from the students in my grad. classes had been sitting in my files waiting to be edited for my visual arts classroom, and they can now be applied to my arts units and lessons. It's going to be a good year for me, professionally.

Equally as good will be my year, personally. I'm on a good role of following a healthy, balanced nutrition and exercise plan. It feels different than it did during summer break, though. During the summer I just know I'm going to be active and won't have to intentionally plan to keep myself moving. I only have to plan what I will consume. Now I have to schedule in time for workouts and training along with planning healthy meals.

After a few weeks it will all be a routine part of life and all will move along smoothly. Thanks, Spark, for making the planning and tracking so easy.

It's that start up transition time that can be a bit challenging, but you're right, once we adapt to the new regimen, it's all good!

It can sound so boring to say it, but routine is good for humans! Keep it up, and we'll do it together!
