A Wedding at 47 Weeks

Saturday, August 20, 2011

Today marks the 47th week until our wedding...and as luck would have it, I am attending a wedding today-that of my future sister in law. Unfortunately when I stepped on the scale for my weigh in, I gained a pound, but all is not lost...I attended a rehearsal dinner tonight and to my surprise I managed to squeeze (somewhat comfortably) into a dress that sat on a hanger against my front door for months. I used this dress as my motivation and inspiration and while I was wearing it tonight, nothing changed. I watched my calories during the entire dinner, eating only a salad without dressing and boxing up half my meal and saving it for later...I also said no to temptation when alcohol was offered. Staying in a hotel for two days, limits my options for healthy eating, so after dinner, I went to a local grocery store and bought apples, grapes and cheese (thank god our room has a fridge in it). I also hit the fitness room and walked on the treadmill for over a mile, with an incline of 12 (the highest setting)- I would have gone longer but the room was 94 degrees and it was hard to breathe, and keep my pace. With the wedding tomorrow, I will watch everything I eat and make sure to burn some calories off on the dance floor, so that when I weigh in again, I will not be seeing a two in front of the other numbers...here is to entering Onederland! As for the rest of the weekend, on Sunday, we will be attending our first bridal expo and hoping to maybe win something cool to help with the wedding...so wish us luck!

Was so proud of you at the wedding this weekend. Refusing alcohol, and eating properly. Keep up these steps and I know that weight will start to fall off. You definitely deserve it! Love you!!

Great job on so many levels: fitting into the dress, staying on track during the rehearsal dinner, and working out at the hotel! I'm so impressed! It would be very easy to just think, "It's a special occasion - I can just take these two days off." I'm very proud of you!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and good luck winning things at the bridal expo!
