Diabetes; journal #1

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Man, this really stinks. I dropped 30 lbs then we moved summer 2010 and I gained 15 lbs back. Dropped 5 again, so I am still a total of 20 lbs down.
THEN, the bomb hit.

It seemed like overnight. I was very ill a couple weeks ago and finally went to the Dr. after having a fever for 7 days. I had all kinds of tests and the end result was devastating. I have diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. They wanted to start me on insulin injections but decided to use that as a last resort if my levels don't improve.

I do not want to be diabetic!
I am not going to be diabetic for long.
I will do whatever it takes to drop the weight fast (yet safely) and exercise regularly and FOREVER change my lifestyle.

I am going to post my progress here for accountability. I'd would really appreciate any comments to my posts.

So my new journey begins..........

I'm just glad you caught it and are on the road to recovery! Remember, not all diabetics are from being overweight (that I know of?) so, talk to your doc. It sounds like you are on the right path to being where you want to be even before this diagnosis.

    feel well soon!!
