I've thought about this some, so I'll put it down here... because anything that builds up my self esteem is an important part of my weight loss journey.
Sometime back while visiting a relative out of state, a friend of hers asked me pointedly, "Have you ever had a face lift?"
Okay, so that's a very personal question, but I smiled politely, and said that I had not! I took it to mean that she was saying that I looked younger than my years, and it actually pleased me. Would that question have offended you?
Today at kettlebell class, I remarked to a classmate, that at one time I had done Strong Women. ( A great weight training program)
She said, "No wonder you're in such fabulous shape!" I 'm sure I beamed a bit, and thanked her kindly.
These comments still bring me joy when I think about them, and if my determined efforts at maintenance and reaching other goals elicits other nice comments then, yes, that's okay. But I think it is better yet that I sincerely compliment others at every opportunity.
I'd love to know the nicest compliment you've ever received? And whether it helped you in your weight loss journey.
