Holy One Month Out Batman!!!!

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Today is my one month anniversary of my surgery. I feel great! I've been back to work for two days and it's been ok so far. Let's see how I do when the real stress comes back.... I won't be able to turn to food. So I think I'm going to exercise it out!

Eating-wise I'm doing ok. I pretty much struggle with every type of meat except sometimes I can eat moist lunch meat. Everything else likes to make a second appearance. I've been doing ok with mushy food like applesauce, pudding, mashed potatoes, refried beans and cold cereal. I also still drink protein shakes to help me get to my protein goal each day.

I do well with my vitamins and so far I've been getting exercise by walking and sometimes swimming.

Soooooooo...... am I happy I did it? Heck yeah! As of today I've lost 46 lbs since I started the pre op diet on July 1st. It's amazing how quickly it has come off. I feel more confident, my double chin is disappearing, I have more defined shoulders and my clothes are falling off. I even flirt more! emoticon Watch out boys!

I am very lucky that I had a great surgical team who helped prepare me for what to expect. I also had a complication free recovery and that has been a blessing. The support from my friends, family and spark friends is priceless and keeps me going.

Awesome loss Jen! I am glad that you are glad that you had the surgery. LOL Flirting is good. One GREAT way to get protein in is fish...like tuna in a can with the juices or if you bake fish in the oven then flake the fish and add the juices in like a fish soup. Your body will adjust, it just takes time. Keep up the great work.

Meats will be hard. I'm about 10 weeks out and I still have trouble with most meats that are not super moist. Patience is the key. So glad to hear you're doing well. I went back to work after 2 weeks... not so easy... glad you got more time.
