I wrote last week that my eyes were bothering me and I was seeing floaters - and I was afraid it was linked to getting hit in the eye with a tennis ball a couple weekends ago. Well, that progressed to seeing flashes of light, so I went to the eye doctor a couple days ago and he dilated it and checked it out and told me to just keep an eye on it (ha ha) and that he would recheck it in a week. He said if there was any trauma from the blow to the head, it would probably show up within two weeks, else we'd be in the clear.
Today I was going about my business, when the flashes suddenly changed to a persistent light spot in the lower left of my vision. So I called my eye doctor and he called around and got me into a retinal specialist first thing tomorrow morning. Meanwhile the light went away, but apparently a big chunk of something tore off, because I have big chunky floaters in my vision now, and little tiny specks like looking through a cloud of gnats! All in the eye that got hit by the ball :(
I'm really scared, but I guess there's nothing to do but see what the experts say. They said it would be a 4 hour appointment because of how long it takes to fully dilate the eye to look into it. I think tomorrow is going to be a long morning :(
