On the Wagon.. Again.

Monday, August 08, 2011

Here I go again trying to get the weight in order. I need to get more motivated to work out when I DONT WANT TO. That is my current issue.

Anyone have any advice besides "just go do it?" That has not been working for me. Thank you!

I have a very consistent little pre-workout routine that gets the job done for me. Not sure if any of it would be helpful to you, but here goes:

1. Part one is physiological...some protein, lite carbs and caffeine about 1/2 before my workout (e. g. cup of Greek yogurt and coffee or 1/2 low-cal energy drink). I need to have my blood sugar and neurotransmitters at ideal levels and this seems to do the trick.

2. Part two is psychological...about 5 minutes before I take a few moments to reflect on WHY I am doing this (my short and long-term goals) and how great I am going to feel afterword. I also take a few moments to visualize my workout so I know what to expect and the flow of exercises.

3. Last but not least, put on some good jams to get me in the mood and go for it! REmember not every workout will be perfect but all of them help in some way to making your day better and to making you a healthier person.

Good luck!!
