Pirate booty that is!!

Well, I'm still waiting for the doctor's call about my latest blood test results. It's kind of maddening that the results have been available since shortly after I had the blood drawn on Thursday and I still don't know them. My doctor is so great that I don't begrudge her some vacation time. I just wish she'd call.

While I've been waiting (as patiently as possible) all weekend I've been busy :) In honor of our upcoming trip to Disney and our stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort Pirate room, I decided to make little pirate hats for my wee scallywags :)

I pretty much just made up the pattern, but I think they turned out amazingly!! (Oh, and the black yarn? It was the sweater I started knitting in December that very quickly became WAY too big. Finally found a good reason to rip it all out.)

Take a couple of simple black bucket hats:


Add some "x" marks the spot stitching for a tricorn effect:
