Not sure yet how she'll respond, but this is the message I sent this morning:
~~~~~
Not a week's worth of data yet, but I wanted to check in. First, I have not had a single dose of either b.p. med since our last email. I thought it would be much easier to up-titrate than down-titrate. Here are the b.p. numbers WITHOUT DRUGS:
8/4 7am 113/76 10pm 110/77
8/5 9am 105/78 4pm 103/66 10pm 105/74
8/6 3pm 110/74 10pm 102/75
8/7 1pm 97/65 8pm 108/71
8/8 9am 109/71
I'll keep tracking, but can you see any reason for me to add Amlodipine or Micardis back in for now? Seems like this sodium:potassium is a critical key. I haven't had b.p.s this normal for 15 yrs, no matter how much wt. I lost or what I weighed! So, am I ok w/out b.p. pills for now?
So, we'll see how she responds!
I did make something with the tomato sauce yesterday, although I am still looking for other ideas. The cans of tomato sauce are not the same as the pasta sauce I use over pasta. We're lucky to be able to get a couple of good tomatoes every summer from the local farm stand, so making my own isn't even a possibility. So I have to rely on canned products. There are low sodium options. I just don't have them in my pantry yet, so I am trying to use up what I have on hand before restocking with low sodium products.
What I made yesterday had both potatoes and cannellini beans, so I'm still looking for a way to use tomato sauce without starch, but here's the recipe link to what I made yesterday if anyone is interested....it is YUMMY and hard to hold myself to one cup of it! (But I must because of the sodium content).
I slept really well last night, which was nice after 2 not so good nights, and feel as if a "reset" button has been pushed. That's always nice. I'm hoping to take my dogs on an adventure today, I'm just not sure what!
Okay, gotta run and get something to eat.
Have an excellent day! Onward and Downward!
    Wonderful blood pressure results! Amazing after 15 years...your hard work is paying off. Restocking the pantry with low sodium is a good plan.
Enjoy today's adventure!
