Old way vs. New Way

I have had "a week." Nothing major or catastrophic, but lots of small things that all add up to being very tired, frustrated and worn out.

Old Pre-Spark me would get some cheese, crackers, wine or beer and hunker down to weather the storm. In the end we all know that really didn't work in the long run. I would feel frustrated with myself the next day and often gained a pound or two.

New me--well new me thought about going for a run, but my running buddy (aka husband) has a softball game tonight. I don't feel comfortable running along (we have had a series of attacks in my city and although they are not very close to where I live I still want to be cautious). Instead, I grabbed a healthier snack--after determining I WAS really hungry and then I limited my portion.

And I opened the laptop to Spark People.

Read a good article and great blog entry. Decided to blog myself to release the frustration. After I post this, I'll be over 25 Spark Points for the day which means BONUS SPIN. Getting a bonus spin every day has been one of my little goals each day this week--surprisingly motivating.

I'm hoping this is my new way of dealing with stress. Because the stress isn't going away; it may even be on the increase. Tomorrow I'll get some exercise in as well as lots of yard work--and I won't feel fat or guilty about stuffing myself with cheese. Yay New Way!
