5th Spark Anniversary --- but the results are not good!

Friday, August 05, 2011

Today, Aug. 5, is my 5th anniversary with SparkPeople. Time to measure my annual weight loss...ho hum.....and see the progression.....yawn..........

Here are the numbers:
2006 213
2007 197
2008 192
2009 194.5 (Big oops!)
2010 189
2011 189.5

This year's weigh-in was depressing. It marks the first year that I haven't lost any weight at all.

Let's take a look at the past year: Do I have more energy? NO. Can I tell any difference in the way my clothes are fitting? NO. Can I see any difference at all from last August to now? Well, after months of physiotheraphy, my kneecaps are back in alignment and I can at least walk with less pain and ride my bicycle again.

I know I should be happy. I have lost weight and kept it off pretty well, although I do backslide a bit now and then. But I need to lose at least 50 more pounds, so I have to do something to make the weight come off at a faster rate. When I compare myself to others, I am envious that others can lose in one month what takes me a year to lose!

Oh well. Yay me! Another year to try and lose a few more tiny pounds towards a huge goal. Will I be more successful next year? We'll see.............

You are a success story! You haven't reached your goal, but you haven't quit. And not quitting makes you a winner. We all kniow there are so many things that come up in life that make our path more difficult, but you WILL get there. I KNOW you will!

And happy 5th anniversary!

You are still here and plugging away. Be happy for the small victories, and you can push yourself to dig deep and keep going. Don't give up.

yes you haven't lost any weight, but you haven't put any of the weight that you've lost back on! always look on the positive side.
