Broke ankle and lost 10 pounds non weight bearing

Sparkpeople has helped me discover that tracking food intake and eating healthy is the key to me getting rid of the 80 pounds that I have gained over the years. I have been riding a recumbent Tandem with my husband for the past 15 years, and still not getting rid of ay excess weight. After breaking my ankle June 11th, I started tracking food intake on my computer and have thus far lost 10 pounds without any sort of excercise. I am talking with my 27 year old son to try and convince him to try tracking his food intake. He had started walking/running around the time I broke my ankle and has not lost as much as I have. I hope the combination of portion controlled meals and the beginnings of movement will help me continue to strive for a healthier, thinner me!

    Wow - 10 pounds lost without exercise is incredible...just imagine the roll you are on and how much of a boost you will get when the ankle heals and you can really kick into gear!

In the meantime can you swim or do other exercises that won't hurt the ankle, I wonder?
