Hello my fellow Sparkers!

Slowly, but surly, I have started losing again. Thank goodness!!! Surprisingly, I reduced the amount of weight I was lifting and increased reps and it seemed to help. I have noticed I now have to go much faster and longer on the elliptical trainer to get my heart rate up, which I know means I’m getting stronger, but also means I have to work harder (ugh!).

Time to switch it up a bit on cardio I guess, but the treadmill and stationary bike seem boring, just don’t want to burn myself out on the same routine. I have a lot of joint issues so the elliptical trainer helps with joint stress in knees and ankles, but even it causes some hip issues for me. Not sure I can handle a Zumba class or anything like that JUST YET, maybe. Any ideas? OH, please don’t suggest anything that involves being outside, at least until October anyway! Way too hot in Texas right now :-) Yeah, I guess I didn’t make that easy for ya! Haha

All and all I’m doing great, just trying to stay motivated, and Spark is a great place for that. I’m thankful for my friends that encourage me, and that helps to hold myself accountable and keep it up. I have a long road ahead, but every day is a step closer.

    Yes! Your hard work, commitment, & persistance are paying off! I don't have any great suggestions for how to change up your cardio Jill, (esp in this weather), but just try to keep challenging yourself. Sometimes if I force myself to try 5 more minutes - I end up going 10 or 15....
    What I tried a few weeks ago (& will try again after it cools back to at least 85 in the early mornings) is adding a fast walk when I get home from the gym. Just 15-20 min, but go as fast as I can. Whew! That really worked up a sweat & gave me energy :)
    And btw- my instrument of torture - favorite cardio is the elliptical too. See you soon!

    So glad to hear that your scale is moving in the southern direction. I have had no luck this week, so far I have gained 3.2 lbs. ugh! But I think its because of all the working out that I am doing. I am working out 6 days a week. I am expecting to reach nearly 30 miles this week from the treadmill/elliptical by Friday. I am not worrying about the scale. I am thrilled that I am getting stronger. Good luck with your weigh loss goals. You can do it!
