A Reality Check and a Turkey Time Goal

Reality check: I weigh a little over 199.

Reality Check: I gained about 3 pounds this summer

So thatís not awfulÖbut I should have lost a lot of weight this summer.

As I said before Iím not going to cry over this. Instead I am going to kick my butt and be awesome!

Goal- Lose 20 pounds by thanksgiving

How can I do that? Lose 1.5 pounds on average per week! I can totally do that!

Hereís what Iím doing!

Food- I move into my apartment next Saturday and I have created a very long grocery list with healthy food only. The less junk I have around my house the healthier I will eat.

I will count and track all my calories and focus on learning how to make the healthiest and tastiest recipes I can find.

Work out- I have created a work out schedule based on my classes and I am making a 5-day a week gym schedule and a weekend goal of 1 work out per day that can be a gym visit or any other kind of activity.

Other- I need to write in my journal at east every other day to keep myself on track and in the right mindset.

Rewards! Rewards! Rewards!- every 5 pounds I get a new book from the Barnes and Noble Classics collection. (Used books are 1.99!)

In 10 pounds I will be at my 50 pound goal which will entitle me to TEETH WHITENING. ☺ I need to be there before October 29, which is my 20th birthday so I can look cute.

I am going to be down 20 pounds by thanksgiving and I am going to look fabulous in time for turkey day

    Finally catching up on reading posts ...!

You my girl have such an admirable attitude! You get yourself up, brush yourself off and jump right back on that wagon! :) I simply love your way of thinking because attitude changes everything!

You may not realize what an inspiration you are to others too, especially an "oldster", lol! Thanks for reminding me how far a positive outlook can take you and steer you on that right path!

You already are lookin' good, but boy by Turkey Day you will be too hot for words!! Fabulous here we come! It's time to regroup and get serious and follow the plan...Food, Track, Exercise, Journal, Reward!

I'll get my shades out 'cause by October 29th those teeth are going to be dazzling :D

    It sounds like you have a good plan! One more thing I'd add: take it one week at a time. I like to think about my goal and keep my eyes on the prize, but it's been helping a lot to just take it day by day, week by week. You can do this! I'm with you on the goal of 1.5 per week. We can do this :)

    I love this plan! Like a lot.

I, too, am a little off track (should be down a few more pounds by now). But, like you, I won't let it slow me down but rather push me forward!

1.5 pounds a week is SO doable. Can you share you grocery list with me? I'm about to make one, too, and I'll send it to you. I think it would be mutually beneficial!

    Reading your blog just made me want to make a plan too. I like the idea of scheduling a workout schedule. It's funny how you can hear some things over and over again but then you actually 'see' someone putting the idea to work and it turns on a light bulb :) Gonna make myself a plan!

Good luck moving into your apartment and settling in for the start of the semester!

    Girlie with a plan, love it, and totally do-able! I suggest checking out the Hungry Girl 300 Under 300 cookbook, great healthy recipes, with simple ingredients. I know you will be (more) fabulous by the time you leave your teens. Keep rockin it girlie!

    Sounds like a fantastic plan! I can't believe summer is almost over - I just registered for an ecology class. Back to school for me too, only one class this semester though. Working in retail management through the holidays does not grant one much time to take classes. But I'm excited for spring semester to sign up for more and maybe someday finish this dang degree!

Not that you need any motivation, but I promise you - keep with school and get it over with. I don't regret getting married and working for a living, but I regret putting school on hold for as long as I have! Maybe I can graduate before I'm 32! Yikes!

Haha, have fun! You will look AMAZING on your birthday! Woo!
