Day 2 of my 17 day diet

Wednesday, August 03, 2011

I'm finding I really want to do this. I really want to follow the plan and do exactly as it says. I ate a great breakfast and drank some more Kefir and took an apple for lunch on the way to the airport. Midflight I got hungry and as the flight attendant brought around the snack basket I was overjoyed to find out they had apples. I'm so bad - I've flown first class a dozen times and have noticed the twix bar, the peanutbutter cups, the bags of chips - even the banana - but never the apple. Yahoo! I ate my apple, happy as a clam and tried to plug my nose as the guy next to me ate his peanutbutter cup. I got tons of extra steps today also. I forgot my cell phone in the car at the airport and had to hoof it all the way back out past security to get it. I'm double safe - screened twice. I owe my 13K steps to my forgetfulness. I got to Phoenix and immediately lost about 10 pounds in sweat. Got to the rental car terminal and found myself hungry again. What do you know, they had a little food stand with Yogurt and water right up front. Someone is looking out for me! Thanks Sky Harbor International Airport! Ate my yogurt in my rental car and off I went. Had dinner with a colleague. Usually we both have a few drinks so I was worried I'd have to explain why I was on the wagon, but he ordered water before I could. Yippee again! No staring at his frosty mug - we both drank water. He ordered a salad and I ordered Salmon. It came on a bed of pureed root veggies and with fresh green beans that looked a little shiny (fat!). I ate my salmon (topped with a very small amount of mystery sauce and some pineapple salsa) and the shiny green beans. I couldn't resist 2 small bites of the root veggies and the carbs made me want to take the untouched breadbasket back to my room and gorge. I stopped that train before it left the station and threw my napkin on my plate. So.. anyway - I don't think I followed the plan to perfection. I should not have had the sauce AND - I cannot have the fruit after 2:00pm AND - my beans were way too shiny - if it was olive oil I could be ok but if it was butter, I lose points. Regardless, I think I did good. I need to get some veggies for my room. I'm dying without something to snack on. I'll be here for another 2 days and I need to stay on task. Now for lunch with te client tomorrow. They always order in for us and usually its some gross take out something or other. Last time it was cheapo fried chinese. Yuck. I might have to eat first and then play the old scoop up some lunch and then move it around on my plate and then throw it away routine. We'll see......I really want to do good - I think my belly looked flatter this morning. Let's hope it looks even flatter tomorrow!

I'm amazed! Keep up the good job and your scale will amaze you! I watched the Doctors yesterday and the creator of the 17 Day Diet was on (Dr. Moreno?) and they had like a ten minute section of the whys and wherefores of the diet. I think I'd like to buy the book. Do you have the book?
