Thankful for AC

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

The temperature got up to 109 degrees today and the heat index was 113-118.

The grass is crunchy.

It is hard to breathe when you go outside and even worse when you get inside the car.

I miss the soft green grass.

At least we don't have to mow anymore and thank God we have air conditioning!!!

It has been SO hot for SO long down here, I forgot what it feels like to have cool temperatures outside! And no rain! Not a drop for months! Our grass is crunchy, too, that part of it which is not burned to dust!

Our AC unit went out last week, we had to replace it and had the new unit put in yesterday....Just at the end of the season, but you can't live without it down here!

Whew! So hot and no air moving at all. I try to water at night or early morning but it soaks in and when I look out, you can't tell I even watered! My poor yard! Pity those who DON'T have air conditioning. We made it before and will again. emoticon

I'm pretty glad to live so far north. This summer has been a hot one up here.Last night we had a really violent storm, wind and constant lightning. The lake is higher than it's been in years. It's supposed to get into the 50's tonight, I can't wait. Pam
