Feeling blah today.

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

I haven't actually checked my weight, so not sure how that is going. I was asked how things were going. Truthfully, I haven't been feeling up to much lately. I had started watching what I was eating and realized that I eat very little protein. Which I'm suspecting might have something to do with how tired and depressed I tend to feel.

My water intake is going along very well, you can tell by looking at my skin. emoticon Yeah for water!! LOL I've noticed my skin isn't dry and flaky anymore. The spring is back into it.

The downside lately is I don't feel like eating. I've tried. I eat a few bites but start feeling sick. I'm chalking this up to the heat. I really hate eating in the summer time. I can't wait for fall, really. So what I've been doing is keeping a little bit of fruit, veggies and those low-fat snacks around. And those little bags of 100 calarie snacks or kids graham cracker snacks. Just something to have in my stomach.

I even bought protein shake mix, to help with my protein intake, but that stuff is really yucky tasting. I should say to thick. I think I'm going to mix it in a BIG glass of milk instead of the serving size they suggest. Might be more bearable, plus the fact that it might not bother my stomach so much. Had a horrible stomach ache for most of the day after drinking it.

That's what I've been up too. Not feeling to good today, just blah. I hate blah days. emoticon

When you say "protein shake", are you talking about one of those SlimFast shakes, or are you talking about whey powder? SlimFast has to be one of the most disgusting things on the planet.

You can get whey powder in any number of flavours, even flavourless, and it doesn't tend to make the fluid you mix it with particularly thick unless it has thickeners in it (in which case you shouldn't use it).

The flavourless variety is good for boosting the protein value of almost any beverage. I make a fruit smoothie for breakfast and whey powder is a big part of it. Might be worth researching.

I hope you feel better soon!
