What's new with me

So I have had a lot of stuff going on lately both physically and emotionally. I know that I have spoken about my hip problems previously but I had never really gone to my doctor about them. Well my old PCP left the practice and was replaced with another doctor who I decided to give a try although I was hesitant because he was male...
Well I had my first appointment with him on may 28th as a follow-up for my stomach problems (the doctor I had seen previously thought I might have gerd) So this first appointment was a LOT more thorough than just a follow-up for the tummy problems. So at this appointment I also touched base on what has been going on with my hip/left leg. He ended up sending me for a MRI for my hip and an upper GI for the stomach just to make sure there was nothing major wrong.
Well, you could say I was a little surprised when I got a phone call from the new doctor lierally two days after my MRI saying they had found a large mass in my abdomen and he wanted me to go for a CTscan. I went in less than four days later for the ctscan and then was almost immediately scheduled for an appt with a specialist. There was a lot more going on during this time but it all seems so small now.
Well the results of the CT scan were scary, I had a "mass" that was taking up my entire abdomen. My stomach and intestines were all squished onto my left side and to top all of this off I have a herniated disc in my lower back which has been twinging my nerves and making my left leg go numb.
Well to make a long story short I had surgery on Friday to remove the mass, this ended up being an ovarian cyst which was approximately 20x30 and was completely benign!!! That was the best news ever! I am recovering well and am now home, but having something like this happen to you really makes you take stock of your life and who you have for support. If I hadn't had my family and friends I would not have been able to be so positive for most of my stay in the hospital and would not be making such a speedy recovery.
