Stretching...YES it is important!!!!

I have been working out now for over 3 years and I am just now starting to stretch after my workouts. I know that's pretty bad, but I always found it to be rather boring! But having a change of heart, I decided to start stretching and you know what, it IS beneficial! I can feel my muscles and my joints working better during my workouts and I even feel more relaxation throughout my entire body rather then being so stiff and tense.

Do you stretch as well? If so, what kinds of stretches do you do?

    Hi there! I stretch in between run/walk combos. I especially need to if I am including a stair work out other wise it can be up to 3 days of soreness. My fav stretches are standing, to stretch your cuadriceps and your knee, hold your foot with your hand, pull your hell towards your butt. And standing, with your legs separated, bent one leg and move your body sidewards. (Simple stretches but my favs!)

    I really need to start stretching more. I felt the same way you did - that stretching was boring and a waste of time! But now more than ever I feel very tense after I work out and I have to admit, I'm kind of envious of seeing some of the women on my workout dvds that are really flexible when I can barely go past my knees when I stretch my hands towards my feet lol.

I'm thinking of maybe adding some yoga once a week to my workout routine and to add more stretching after my current workouts.
