Week 5 Complete

Yesterday was a mere 3 miles. The training program Jeff Galloway provided has us alternating weeks- so from now on every other week will be only 3 miles and the miles will increase in between. Last week was 5.5, next week is 7.

It was a good run. We used a 1-2-4 interval and kept the runs at a 4.4 pace. We sat down a few days ago and hammered out a plan for increasing speed. We run 3 days a week: 30 minutes on Wednesdays, 45 on Fridays, and Sunday Long Runs. We want to increase speed on Fridays and increase intervals on Wednesdays (so for example right now we run for 1, 2, and 4 minutes...we want to get that up to 4, 9, and 14). And on Fridays, we want to use the intervals to up the pace, so for example we ran this week at 4.5, 4.7, and 5.0- next week we'll up it to 4.6, 4.8, and 5.1, etc... It sorta sounds complicated but I swear it makes sense to us, haha!

Thus far our training has gone very well and we're feeling great!! emoticon
